About the Art
Sketch hand-drawn by Maria during Cypher sessions in the North End of Middletown. The cypher sessions were known for local youth rapping, yet depending on the group of people who showed up (students, artists, singers, drummers, elders...), the cypher would morph into whatever musical style the participants decided to do. Sometimes that ended up as just spoken word, a story, or a memory relayed. Sometimes it was therapy, most times it was play. Enjoy the product of this creative collaboration.
