About the Art:

This piece was created in my grandmothers basement, from the center of my heart. When I was a young child I felt struggle within the interconnectedness of humanity, especially the children in areas of war. Many nights I would stay awake and pray for hours, because I did not know what else I could do to help at such a young age. I became an artist to shine light on important matters, to support the wellbeing of children, and in hopes of transforming struggle brought by humanity. My personal style in achieving this is to create unsheltered, beautiful and intriguing work.

Child Soldiers came when I tried to draw a self portrait. As it developed I envisioned it as a template, with part of the imagery changing in phases to provide aid to different communities globally. This specific cropped image depicts a young aboriginal girl with a bandana covering her face, and two children amidst war. It was created sometime in 2014. This represents the first phase in this series, or 'Phase I'. Each process photo or phase will become a limited edition run of prints/canvas/merchendise until the next phase is ready to print. 50% of profits from this image will be put into the Children's Fund to directly benefit children's education, food, and safety in Tanzania, Africa.
